Through the years b current has collaborated with a plethora of community and professional folks; and assisted many artists and groups with various kinds of sponsorship and support: these include
aché performance collective, first dub poetry festival international, fresh arts/artsworks project, sugar 'n spice, d.c. productions, the dub lab, naked mask theatre, arc/k, luther hansraj productions, creative adventures…
We have provided archival video documentation to:
obsidian theatre, africanadian playwrights festival, nightwood theatre, coba, second look community arts, conscious step, sojourner's truth, theatre in the rough; and provided production and artistic advice and consulted on numerous projects with
baso/black artist service organization, ontario college of art, second look community arts, nightwood theatre, company of sirens, sister vision press, jamaican canadian association, first night toronto, africanadian playwrights festival, obsidian theatre company, young peoples theatre.
In 2001/2 we started the rock.paper.sistahz festival:
a multi-component development program which includes various levels of workshops and dramaturgical support, and a festival-format presentation of original material; polished productions, others as rough works-in-progress. rps is intended to give sound to new and emerging, as well as fresh established voices in our midst, while making the most of limited resources.
Creeping up on to the new millennium/2000 b current began concentrating efforts on the next generation with training and development of both new works and emerging artists through the rAiz’n the sun ensemble.
